Closing Ceremony
Thursday 10 October afternoon
The closing ceremony included a summary of the highlights of the Congress and a presentation of the Strategic Plan 2020-2023 that will guide PIARC's activities for the next four years.
During the official handover, the host country of the next World Road Congress, the Czech Republic, invited Congress delegates to come and discover its wonders and innovations.
The closing ceremony took place as follows:

Jonathan James, Head of the Congress Organising Committee, gave a comprehensive review of the Congress, highlighting the key points of this year's event. - Prize
Ceremony
Miguel Caso Flórez, Technical Director of PIARC, awarded the prize for the best speaker and the best session in the Congress proceedings to the winners designated by the 700 evaluations of delegates through the official application.
The prize for the best speaker was won by Anne-Séverine Poupeleer (Belgium).
The award for the best session went to the session on the inclusion of people with disabilities in road transport, chaired by Charlotte McClain-Nhlapo. - Technical

Patrick Malléjacq, Secretary General of PIARC, presented the major technical conclusions and achievements of this congress. - Invitation
to upcoming PIARC Congresses
Robin Sébille, PIARC Deputy Secretary General, invited delegates to the 16th World Congress on Winter Service and Road Resilience, to be held in Calgary(Canada) in 2022, and the 27th World Road Congress , to be held in Prague (Czech Republic) in 2023. - Speech by Mr. Claude Van Rooten, President of PIARC
